Mary E. Rawlinson, 92 of Peachtree City, Georgia and formerly of Princeton, passed away on Friday, June 17, 2016 at her home.
She was born March 4, 1924 in Grayville, IL to Clyde and Etta (Marlin) Griffith.
She was a 6th grade teacher of language arts at PCMS for 17 years. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education from Oakland City College, and her Master of Art degree from University of Evansville in elementary education, reading specialist, and administration. She served on the board of the United Methodist Youth Home, a member of Hillside United Methodist Church, and Hillside’s chancel choir. She was a member of Cosmos Club, Antiquarian Society, Morning Etude, Gibson County Roadrunners, and the Gibson County Fine Arts Council.
She is survived by her 3 children, Mikel T. Rawlinson (Annette), Mary Catherine (Rawlinson) Ford (John), and John Mark Rawlinson (Sandy); also several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John D. Rawlinson in 2008, and her son, Richard Alan Rawlinson.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, June 24, 2016 at the Hillside United Methodist Church in Princeton, with Rev. Jarmon Perkins and Pastor Tom Rawlinson officiating. Burial will be in the Archer Cemetery in Princeton. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 PM on Thursday at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton and from 10 until 11AM on Friday at the church.
