Vernie E. Pflug, 59, of Princeton, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.
He was born in Evansville on August 29, 1956 and had resided in Princeton most of his life.
He was a graduate of Princeton Community High School, class of 1974 and attended Indiana University. He had been the assistant manager at Wendy’s restaurant in Princeton and had worked in the food service industry his entire lifetime, having formerly worked at G. D. Ritzy’s and Wendy’s on First Avenue in Evansville. “Vern” was devoted to his family and loved all of his nieces and nephews. His motto was “Live Long and Prosper”. He was an avid reader and had an extensive collection of comic books and Star Trek memorabilia.
He is survived by his favorite dog, “Mikey”; 5 brothers, Bill Pflug (Kim) of Evansville, Tony J. Woods (Renia) of Princeton, Tony V. Pflug (Antonette Houchins) of Evansville, John V. Pflug (Sheila) and Mike Pflug (Billie) all of Princeton; a sister, Vangie A. Bradshaw (Brian Scott) of Indianapolis; a sister-in-law, Roberta Pflug of Evansville; several nieces and nephews and 4 great nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his father, Vernie H. and Mary Catherine Pflug; his mother, Fontella F. and Orris Young; 2 brothers, Patrick A. Pflug and James V. Pflug. There will be no formal visitation or services. Private family services will be held. Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton is assisting the family.
