James T. “Buck” Mason, 80, of Mackey, passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at his home.
He was born on October 14, 1935 in Pike County to Robert Stewart & Gladys Mae (Oliver) Mason.
He had retired from the coal mine in 1992. He was a member of the U.M.W.A., Oakland City Eagles, American Legion #256 and he loved to camp.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years (June 14, 1959), Sharon (Doan) Mason of Mackey; 4 sons: Kevin (Debbie) Mason of Ft. Branch, Kris Mason of Mackey, Jeff (Pam) Mason of Francisco & Jon (Michelle) Mason of Mackey; 12 grandchildren: Raychel (Jason) Adams of Princeton, Emilee Cunningham of Owensville, Kayla (Joey) Wells of Princeton, Brooklynn of Mackey, Ryan, Ethan & Amanda of Francisco, Katie, Jessica, Ashley, Rianna & Cole of Mackey; 18 great grandchildren; 2 sisters: Beverly Harris of Princeton & Brenda (John) Bolin of Winslow.
Preceded in death by his parents; daughter Kelly Lee Mason in 1967; sister Nora Alice Nixon and grandson in law Mike Cunningham.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, IN, officiated by Rev. Bill Reed. Burial will follow in the Blackfoot Cemetery in Coe, IN. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 pm on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, IN.
