Rita Mae Lamey, 86, born June 2, 1930 went home to be with the Lord on June 28, 2016 at New Harmonie Health Care in New Harmony, IN.

She worked at Emge Meat Packing, was a member of the St. James Alter Society and The Haubstadt Daughters of Isabella.

Rita was a selfless wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved her family very much. She spent countless hours cooking, sewing, and embroidering beautiful quilts. She had a great sense of humor and a smile that could win anyone over.

Rita is preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Edith (Anslinger) Gruebel, brother Roger Gruebel, Son Gary Lamey, daughter-in-law Angie Lamey, and Loving husband of 55 years Alvin Lamey.

She is survived by daughters Diane (Jr.) Schillinger, Pam (Greg) McIntyre, Pattie (Ron) Grubb, son Kent (Tina) Lamey, sister Lois (Leon) Potts, 10 grandchildren Jason (Karyn) McIntyre, Christopher (Hollye) Schillinger , Daniel (Macy) Lamey, Shelly (Eric) Patterson, Jennifer (Brett) Baker, Brittany (Asher) Alden, Cody Schillinger, Ryan (Allison) McIntyre, Tiffany Lamey, Cory Lamey, and 15 great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday July 2, 2016 at 10:00 AM at St. James Catholic Church in Haubstadt, IN with Fathers Kenneth Betz and Tony Ernst as Co-celebrants. Visitation will be on Friday July 1, 2016 at Stodghill Funeral Home on highway 168 in Fort Branch, IN from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and again on Saturday July 2, 2016 at St. James Catholic Church from 9:00 AM until service time. Burial will be in St. James Catholic Cemetery following Mass. Donations can be made to St. James Catholic Church.
