Elizabeth E. “Betty” Newlin, 77, of Patoka, passed away Monday, May 9, 2016 at the Transcendent Healthcare of Owensville.

She was born in Pike County, Indiana on October 14, 1938.

She was a retired truck driver with her husband for Wilkins Trucking. She is survived by her eight children, Cindy Newlin, Mark Newlin (Kim), Amer Newlin, Gerri Sumner (Robert), Becky Newlin (Bob Brown), Danny Newlin (Aleah), Dawn Canfield (Ray) and Jeremy Newlin (April); 20 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and a sister, Elsie Mae Legg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Grace McDaniel; her husband, Jerry W. Newlin, to whom she was married on March 30, 1957 in Crawford County, Illinois, he died in 2011; an infant grandson, Amer F. Newlin; an infant great granddaughter, Hailey Eads; two sisters, Maxine Bryant and Ruth Olson; and a daughter-in-law, Ruthie Newlin.

There will be a Celebration of her Life from 1 until 5 p.m. Sunday, May 15, 2016 at the Hazleton Community Center, SR 56 at Tennessee Street in Hazleton, Indiana. Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton is assisting the family.

Burial will be at the Newlin Cemetery in Robinson, Illinois.
