Donald P. Hurst, 92, of Princeton, passed away
Monday, May 9, 2016 at the Gibson General Hospital in Princeton.
He was born in Gibson County, Indiana on
October 16, 1923 to the late Ira N. and Edith (Adkins) Hurst and had lived in
this area most of his lifetime.
He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy serving in
WW II and was a member of the veteran’s funeral detail at the V.F.W. 1147 in
Princeton for many years. He retired from the tool & die department at
Hurst Mfg. Company in Princeton. He was an active member of the First General
Baptist Church in Princeton.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita “Bea”
(Phillips) Hurst to whom he was married on January 29, 1955; three sons, Tony
Hurst of Oakland City, Tracy Hurst (Charlotte) of Princeton and Ira Dean Hurst
(Laura) of Bridgeport, Illinois; three step children, Linda Tegmeyer
(Kent) of Indianapolis, Barbara Joyce “Joy” Belcher (Larry) of Petersburg and
Bill Kolb of Scipio, Indiana; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a
brother, Warren Hurst of Princeton.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday,
May 13, 2016 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Pastor Brad Keenan
officiating. Burial will follow at the Columbia White Church Cemetery in
Princeton, with full military rites provided by the Retired Military Veteran’s.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Thursday
at the Colvin Funeral Home.
