Joy Lee Ott, 79, of Princeton, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016
at The Waters of Princeton.
She was born to
Roy Jennings and Ethel Fern (Williams) Tipton McDevitt (both deceased), in
Evansville, IN on October 24, 1936.
She retired from
Hansen Manufacturing Company in Princeton. She was also a longtime Avon
saleslady. She was of the Protestant faith and a life member of the V.F.W.
Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived
by four sons, Mark Alan (Diana) Parrott of Vincennes, J. D. (Becca) Ott of Ft. Branch, Rodney Lee Ott
of Ft. Branch and Michael Blaine Ott of Princeton;
her sister, Nancy Sue Strickland of Oakland City; step-sister, Darlene
(McDevitt) Fritz of Princeton; several grandchildren, great grand-children and
one great-great grandson; several nieces and nephews and her cat Louie.
Preceding her in
death were three daughters, Melanie Ann Ott age 16
died of a brain aneurysm in 1977, Connie Rae (Parrott) Dyer age 50 died of
ovarian cancer in 2004, Dayna Denise (Parrott) Morgan age 47 died of bladder
cancer in 2006; sisters, Loretta Meadows of Princeton, Gloria Phillips and
Maxine Marshall both of Francisco; step-sister, Juanita Stienhoff
of Indianapolis; step-brother, James McDevitt of Oakland City; and step-father,
Alva McDevitt of Francisco.
Funeral services
will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the Colvin Funeral Home in
Princeton, with Rev. Larry Meadows officiating. Burial will follow in the
Francisco Cemetery.
Visitation will
be from 4 until 8 p.m. Friday at the Colvin Funeral Home.
