John E. Gentry, 60, of Petersburg passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at St. Joe Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC.

He was born on April 17, 1955 in Evansville, IN to John B. and Dorothy (Stogsdill) Gentry.

He worked at Hansen’s Manufacturing for 20+ years and then worked construction. He loved all outdoor activities.

He is survived by his 2 sons, Jered (Jamie) Gentry and Chris (Amanda) Gentry both of Princeton; mother, Dorothy Gentry of Petersburg; 9 grandchildren, Jaelyn, Lexie and Kendall White and Hunter, Kaitlyn, Conner, Madison, Elyssa and Corvin Gentry; brother, Jerry Gentry; 3 sisters, Gayle Sandwell, Crystal Foster and Julie Hyatt; and his girlfriend, Marcia Banner that the family would like to give a special thank you to.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Gentry; and a brother, Gilbert Ray Gentry.

Graveside Services will be held at 12 noon (CDT) on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Oatsville, IN, officiated by Rev. Donald Mobley. Burial will follow.

Visitation will be from 9 am until 11:30 am (CDT) on Saturday at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton.
