Jack E. Nelson, 74, of
Buckskin passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at his home.
Jack was born on May 31,
1941 in Evansville, Indiana to Jack and Loretta (Houchins)
Nelson.
He was a lifetime resident
of Buckskin and was a member of the St. Johns Church of Buckskin. He was a
carpenter with the Union Local #247. Jack was a member of the Oakland City
Masonic Lodge #467. He enjoyed and participated in Antique Tractor Pulling,
where he won several 1st place trophies.
He is survived by his wife,
Rita Nelson of Buckskin; son, James Nelson of Oakland City; daughters, Cheryl
(Jeff) Lee of Terre Haute and Deann (Danny) Leffler of Snake Run; step children, Chad (Melissa) Stuckey
of Buckskin and Rusty (Jennifer) Stuckey of Princeton; 6 grandchildren; several
great grandchildren; 4 sisters, Tana Holzmeyer
of Terre Haute, Becky Wright of Hillsboro, IL, Phyllis Proctor of Riley, IN and
Betty Robinson of Bosesman, MT; and several
nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by
his parents; and his first wife, Betty Jean Nelson in 1999.
There will be no services.
Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City has been entrusted with arrangements.
