Ophia Miller,
108, of Oakland City, Indiana passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2016 at Good
Samaritan Nursing Home in Oakland City.
She was born June 15, 1907 in Pike County, IN
to Theodore and Lucy (Corten) Miller.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist
Church in Oakland City. She was an official member of Phi Beta Psi Sorority,
member of Thursday Club, member of the O.C. Senior Citizens, and a longtime
member of the Order of Eastern Star.
She is
survived by her daughters, L. Faye Dysert of
Danville, IL and Donna Huff of Oakland City; 4 grandchildren, Michael (Connie)
McDonald, Susan (James) Walters, Terry (Mindy) Dysert
and Alan (Michele) Dysert; 7 great grandchildren,
Todd and Trent Walters, Brent McDonald, Erin McDonald Stanfield, Ethan Dysert, and Cody and Cooper Dysert;
9 great-great grandchildren, Hayden Alia and Hudson Walters, Katelyn and
Madalyn Walters, Ellie and Blake McDonald, and Evan and Mark Stanfield.
She was
preceded in death by her parents; husband, Claude “Earl” Miller in 1963;
daughter & son-in-law, Alice “Lorene” and Nolan McDonald; sons-in-law, Jack
Huff and Marion Dysert; grandsons, Tab and Tony
Bailey; great granddaughter, Jada Bailey; sister, Flossie Barrett; and 5
brothers, Thomas, Ivan, Clyde, Hugh and Herb Miller.
Funeral
Services will be held at 3 PM (CDT) on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Corn-Colvin
Funeral Home in Oakland City, with Dr. Douglas Low officiating. Burial will be
in the Montgomery Cemetery in Oakland City.
Visitation will be from noon until service
time on Saturday at the funeral home.
