Urban J. Greubel, age 91 passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh.
He was born in Haubstadt on June 19, 1924 to Leonard and Dora (Adler) Greubel and resided in the area his whole life.
Urban retired from Sterling Brewery, worked part time at
Rossi Oil Co. and also farmed.
He was a lifetime member of St. James Catholic Church, an honorary life member
of Knights of Columbus #2215, a member of The Old Tyme
Auto Club and was a founding member of the Antique Steam and Gas Engine
Club in Boonville.
Preceding him in death were his parents, 1 sister Marie Greubel
and 1 brother, Frank Greubel.
Urban is survived by his son, Tony Greubel of
Washington, D.C., his daughter, Delana Wentzel of Evansville, 1 step-daughter, Felicia Williams of
Evansville, 2 grandsons, Douglas Greubel and
Christopher Greubel both of Washington, D.C, 1
granddaughter, Leah Wentzel of Evansville, 1
daughter-in-law, Izumi Greubel of Washington, D.C. 5
step-grandchildren. 1 brother, Adolph “Jack” Greubel
of Haubstadt and nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 AM Saturday, March 5 at St. James
Catholic Church with burial following in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 PM Friday, March 4 at Wade Funeral with a Knights of Columbus Rosary service beginning at 1:30 PM. Friends may also call from 9:00 AM until Mass time Saturday, March 5 at the church.
