Robert H. Cloin,
82, of Princeton, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Community North
Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born in Princeton on July 21, 1933 and
had been a lifetime resident of Gibson County.
He was a graduate of Oakland City College and
Indiana State University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Korean
War, serving aboard the USS Northampton in the Mediterranean Sea. He was a
retired school teacher of 40 years, starting at Monroe City High School and
then spending the rest of his career at North Gibson School Corporation, where
he was instrumental in starting the low power TV station at Princeton Community
High School. He was a member of the Patoka United Methodist Church and held
membership in both the Indiana State Teachers Association and the Indiana
Retired Teachers Association.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Patsy (Osborne) Cloin; three children, Cindy Wood of Fishers, IN, Robert
Alan (Kathy) Cloin and Sandy Cloin
all of Orlando, FL; seven grandchildren, Jordyn and Tyler Wood, Steven and Zach
Strange, A. J. and Victoria Cloin and Ally Romershausen; a great granddaughter, Haylee; a sister,
Dianne (Don) Tate of Princeton; also several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Ruth Cloin and a son-in-law, Danny Wood.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2016
at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Pastor Jeff Pinney
officiating. Burial will follow at the Forsythe Cemetery near Oakland City.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Monday
at the Colvin Funeral Home. Full military rites will be provided by the Retired
Military Veterans.
