Alice "Lorene" (Miller) McDonald, 91,
formerly of Oakland City, IN passed away on January 24, 2016 in Lafayette, IN.,
where she lived for the last 8 years.
She was born on January 10, 1925 in Pike County, IN.
to Claude "Earl" & Ophia (Miller)
Miller.
Lorene graduated from Oakland City High School in 1943. She received her Beauty
Shop license, as well as her Master Cosmetologist license, in 1961. She retired
as a beautician in 1988. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist
Church in Oakland City, as well as a 50-year member of The Order of the Eastern
Star.
Lorene is preceded in death by her father; and her husband, Ralph “Nolan”
McDonald Jr, whom she married on June 14, 1943.
She is survived by her son & daughter-in- law, Michael A. & Connie
McDonald of Thorntown, IN; daughter & son-in-law, Susan J. & James
Walters of Lafayette, IN; her 108 year old mother, Ophia
Miller of Oakland City; 4 grandchildren, Brent McDonald, Erin (McDonald)
Stanfield, Todd Walters and Trent Walters; 9 great-grandchildren, Ellie
McDonald, Blake McDonald, Evan Stanfield, Mark Stanfield, Hayden Walters, Alia
Walters, Hudson Walters, Katelyn Walters, and Madalyn Walters; and two sisters,
L. Faye Dysert of Danville, IL. & Donna Huff of
Oakland City.
Funeral Services will be held at 3 PM (Central Time) Saturday, January 30, 2016
at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, officiated by Rev. Douglas Low.
Burial will be at the Montgomery Cemetery in Oakland City.
Visitation will be from 12 noon (Central Time) until
service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
