Ronald George Goebel, 78, of Francisco, IN, died on Tuesday,
Jan. 12, 2016 at River Oaks Health Campus.
He was born March 5th, 1937 in Evansville, IN, the
son of Leo and Zelma Goebel.
He graduated from Reitz High and
Mechanical Arts in 1955, he received an honorable discharge from the Marine
Corps in June 1962. He was a graduate of Lockmasters, Red and Green silver
smith school in Lakewood, CO. He graduated from touch of glass in Denver,
CO. He worked at many jobs before founding West Lock and Safe Inc., of
Denver CO. He owned and operated Southwest until he retired in
1989. He was a member of A.L.O.A. and Lockmasters for many years, and a
life member of the Rocky Mountain Locksmith Association. He was a member
of the Evansville Lapidary Society and the Francisco Lions Club. He was
an inventor and had U.S. patents and copy rights.
He was preceded in death by his parents
and his wife Lucy, his step daughter, Janet Simon, His son Mitch Goebel, his
sisters Barbara Paul and Leola Maihle.
He is survived by his son Matt Goebel of
Mt. Carmel, IL, daughter, Peggy Macmillan of Fresno, CA, Greg Goebel of VA,
sisters Mary Allen of Fort Branch, IN, Nancy Hasenour
of Haubstadt, IN, a brother, Joe Goebel of Inglefield, IN, Step daughters,
Donna Hayhurst of Evansville, IN, Patsy Haden of W.
Louisville, KY, Ruthy Miller of Cloverport
KY, Brenda Macfarland of Lakeside, CA.
There will be no service or visitation
as his body will be cremated as he requested. Stodghill
Funeral Home in Fort Branch, IN is in charge of arrangements.
