Linda Lou (Elliott) Wright, 70, of Princeton, passed
away Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh.
Linda was born April 4, 1945 in Princeton to Clarence W. ‘Joe’ and Martha R.
(Hunt) Elliott.
Linda held many jobs including; working as a telephone operator for the
Princeton Telephone Co., a receptionist for International Steel and a switch
operator for Gibson General Hospital. She was also in management at the
Princeton Marathon and as an associate at Lowe’s and Menards. Retiring after 15
years at Hansen Manufacturing Company, Linda became a caregiver for the
elderly. For the last 10 months, she returned to work at Hansen’s as a
‘retiree’ temporary worker.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, infant son, Jerry Joe Wright in
1966 and her cats, Sheba and Shasta who were so special to her.
Linda was a Christian and had attended Bethel Memorial Church. She was well
known throughout the area and had a host of friends.
She is survived by two brothers, Harold (Sue) Elliott of Benton, Illinois;
Robert (Noralee) Elliott of Warrenton. IN; four
sisters, Janet (Joe) Douglas of Princeton; Sandra Sue Elliott of Mount Vernon,
IN; Mary (Buddy) Tingler of Yuma, AZ; and Donna (Don)
White of Haubstadt; special friend, Burt Dickison of
Center Point, IN, several nephews, nieces, and cousins, including special niece
and nephew, Jill (White) Palmer, and Paul White.
Linda’s three cats, Sophia, Samantha, and Wendy survive her and will soon need
a new home.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday December 16, 2015, at the Colvin
Funeral Home in Princeton, with Pastor Kevin Wilson officiating. Burial will
follow in the Columbia “White” Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM Tuesday at the
funeral home.
