Daniel P. Dillon, 77 of Patoka, passed away Saturday,
December 26, 2015 at his home.
He was born Sept. 7, 1938 in Pike County to Ralph and
Verna (Marvel) Dillon.
Daniel had lived most of his life in Union area, living the past 11 years in
Patoka. He worked with Laborers Union Local 561, working for the Rogers Group.
He was a former member of the Eagles, V.F.W. and the American Legion.
He was a Christian and attended the Pentecostal Church. He enjoyed fishing,
hunting and building and driving demolition derby cars.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Dillon; 7 children, Daniel W. Dillon of
Patoka, Brenda (Rick) Wiscaver of Washington, Richard
Dillon of Owensboro, KY, Doug Dillon of Patoka, Barry (Rhonda) Dillon of
Bowman, Kevin (Jamie) Dillon of Princeton, and Kimberly Schatz of Vincennes,
brother, Morris Dillon of Union; 4 sisters, Olivia Young, Wanda Brown, Linda
Williams and Olive “Dee” Thomas all of Patoka, 15 grandchildren and 17 great
grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, 2 brothers, a grandchild and
a great grandchild.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, December 31, 2015, at the Colvin
Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Carolyn Dillon officiating. Burial will
follow in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery near Mt. Olympus.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at
the funeral home.
