Barbara Jo Waldroup, 80, beloved
wife of the late Billie Lee Waldroup and devoted
mother of the late Larry W. Waldroup and Dennis R. Waldroup, lost her battle with life November 14, 2015.
Barbara worked as secretary and realtor for Flack Realty
after working briefly for W & F Realty in Princeton till 1979. They lived
in Florida for a few years. After returning to Princeton, Barbara worked at
Citizens Bank. She then worked in the craft department at Walmart, first in
Evansville and then Princeton. She retired from Walmart.
Barbara was born on July 10, 1935 to Morton & Hilda Dossett who preceded her in death.
On November 25, 1949, Barbara married Billie Lee Waldroup. Even though Bill & Barbara married at the young ages of 17 & 14, their love for each other continued strong for 56 years.
Bill and Barbara spent their married life in Princeton
except for a short move to Florida in 1979. Barbara was an active member of the
First Baptist Church in Princeton.
Barbara is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Dennis & Jane Waldroup of Clinton, IN; grandsons, Captain Kevin (Sarah) Waldroup and great grandson, James and Sgt. Matthew Waldroup. (both Kevin &
Matthew served in Iraq.); daughter-in-law, Anita Waldroup;
grandchildren, Amity Waldroup, Lt. Colonel Cory
(Sarah) Waldroup (Cory served in Afganistan
and Azores) and Grant (Katie) Waldroup. Barbara is
also survived by grandchildren, Dusti (Timothy)
Wallace and great granddaughter, Allyson Howard and granddaughter Megan (Shane)
Hammond. Also surviving Barbara are a brother, Jerry (Barbara) Dossett; brother-in-law, John (Pauline) Waldroup;
brother-in-law, Ted (Glenna) Waldroup; and
sister-in-law, Nancy Dossett.
She is preceded in death by parents; husband in 2005; son, Larry Waldroup; brother, Morton Dossett
Jr.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at the
Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Pastor Jim Saunders officiating. Burial
will be in the Oddfellows Cemetery in Princeton. Visitation will be from 4
until 8 PM on Tuesday at the Colvin Funeral Home.
The family would like to thank Dr. Anand Bhuptani and granddaughters, Megan Hammond and Dusti Wallace for all the help in caring for their
grandmother.
