Eugene P. Dewig, age 95 passed away Monday, November 30, 2015 at Signature Healthcare of Newburgh surrounded by his loving family.

He was born April 23, 1920 in Haubstadt to Alois and Anna (Anslinger) Dewig.

Eugene was retired from farming and the Gibson County Highway Dept.  He was a lifetime member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. 

Preceding him in death were his parents; 2 wives; Marie (Weber) Dewig and Celly (Murphy) Dewig; 1 daughter, Connie Fehrenbacher and 1 son, Gerald Dewig. 2 brothers, Norman and Ray Dewig. 2 sisters, Helen Weber and Esther Byrnes. 

Eugene is survived by his daughters; Diana Risinger and Pat (Tom) Hess of Haubstadt, Joyce Gehlhausen (Dick) and Mary J. Lawrence of Evansville. Paula Dewig of Wadesville and 1 son Reggie Dewig (Carla) of Evansville. 16 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Special friend, Evagene Nelson. 2 sisters, Irma Helfrich and Margie Schneider; 3 sisters-in-law, Charlyne Dewig (Ray), Herlinda Weber (John) and Gerry Weber (Clarence). 1 brother-in-law, Bob Byrnes. Several nieces and nephews. 

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 AM Friday, December 4 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 PM Thursday, December 3 at Wade Funeral Home. Friends may also call from 10 AM until Mass time Friday at the church.
