David Eugene Swails 76 of Oakland City, entered rest on Thursday Oct. 29, 2015
at his home.

He was born on Sept.12, 1939 in Davenport, IL to Eugene & Elizabeth (Schaumberg) Swails.

He graduated from Bailey Technology School in St. Louis, MO and attended
Oakland City University. From 1974 to 2003 he served as Dean of Technology Dept. at Oakland City University. He served in the Air Force during Vietnam and was a member of the Oakland City American Legion Post # 256. 

He is survived by his wife of 40 years: Patricia Swails; Son: David Scott Swails of Clinton, Oklahoma; Daughters: Rebecca Wright of Oakland City, Wendy Galbreath of Elkhart, IN, Kimberly Shapard of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Kelly Kolb of Clinton, Oklahoma. (16) Grandchildren; Sisters: Shirley Poshard of Peoria, IL, Doris Gangelhoff of Maple Grove, MN and Janet Cline of Washington,IL. 

Funeral services will be Friday November 6, 2015 at 10:30 A.M.at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel with burial in Montgomery Cemetery. Fr. Ronald Zgunda will be officiating.

Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday and from 8:00 A.M. until services on Friday.
