George Loren Riley Sr., 75, of Oakland City went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday October 21, 2015. He was surrounded by his family which was his favorite past time.
George, lovingly known to his family and friends as “Pap”, was born on May 19, 1940 in Mackey, IN to Loren and Cora (Null) Riley.
He was a member at Clarks Chapel Church, where he was the
treasurer. He was retired from Alcoa in Newburgh. George enjoyed horses,
fishing, playing (winning) euchre, and most of all being surrounded by his
family wherever they traveled.
He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 57 years, Beverley Riley;
children, George (Karen) Riley Jr, Sheri (Malcolm) Marshall, Jim (Lori) Riley
and Deborah Stocker (Tim Schmits); grandchildren,
B.J. (Beth), Joshua, Dawn (Eric), Aron (Jennifer), Michael (Morgan),
Christopher, Tristan, Kaden, Allison, Owen, Lane, Makayla, Zachary, Cory
(Kelsey) and Mark (Amber); 18 great grandchildren; brother, Jack (Linda) Riley;
and a sister-in-law, Tammy Riley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Timothy Riley; daughter, Tamara Hillyard; granddaughter, Lauren Grace; and a brother, John
Riley.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 am on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Mackey
Church of the Nazarene, officiated by Pastor Chip Bullock and Pastor B.J.
Riley. Burial will be at the Providence Cemetery near Francisco. Visitation
will be from 4:30 until 8 pm on Friday at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland
City.
