Steven Allen McEllhiney, age 61, of Huntingburg, passed away at 12:54 a.m., Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

He was born October 25, 1953 in Princeton, Indiana, to Bill and Barbara (Moore) McEllhiney. 

He married Kathleen Young on June 8, 1973 at the Fairview Presbyterian Church in Francisco. 

Steven retired from McEllhiney Construction Company as a self-employed builder and was currently employed by the Southwest Dubois County School Corporation as a maintenance worker.  When not working, he enjoyed building various projects at home and spending time with his family and grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents; an uncle, Jim McEllhiney; and an aunt, Rose McEllhiney.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen McEllhiney of Huntingburg, Ind.; one daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer (Kelly) Murphy of Huntingburg, Ind.; two sons and two daughter-in-laws, Tyler (Cortni) McEllhiney of Francisco, Ind. and Shane (Leslie) McEllhiney of Boonville, Ind.; his parents, Bill and Barbara McEllhiney of Fort Branch, Ind.; five brothers, Stan McEllhiney of Clarksville, TN, John McEllhiney of Princeton, Ind., Jeff McEllhiney of Boonville, Ind., Rob McEllhiney of Nashville, TN, and James McEllhiney of Francisco, Ind.; one sister, Bridget Reidford of Haubstadt, Ind.; and eight grandchildren, Devin, Owen, Wyatt, Maggie, Ashlyn, Brady, Mack and Reed.

Funeral services for Steven McEllhiney will be held at 2:00 p.m., E.D.T., on Saturday, October 10, 2015, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery located in the community of Francisco near Princeton.  Pastor Paul Newland, Craig Taylor and Kelley Murphy will officiate at the funeral service.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., E.D.T., on Saturday, the day of the funeral.
