Gertie (Marcum) Martin, 96, passed away Friday, Oct. 16, 2015 at Lee Memorial Health System in Fort Myers, FL.

She was born July 8, 1919 in Frazer, KY daughter of Ike and Alma (Taylor) Marcum.

Gertie was a graduate of Monticello High in Monticello, KY. She had previously worked for the Government as a laborer for Naval Avionics.

Survivors include her daughter, Jean Koontz; step-daughter, Betty Dickson; sister, Zelma Grimm; brother, James Marcum.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert E. Martin on July 12, 2011; brother, Raymond Marcum, sisters, Pearlie Gossage, Lois Davis, Mae Davis and Edith Henderson.

Services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Holders Funeral Home in Owensville, with Bob Douglas officiating. Burial will be in the Owensville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the service hour at the funeral home.
