Mary M. Esarey, 87, of Mackey, Indiana passed away on Monday, October 12, 2015 at River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton, IN.
She was born October 21, 1927 in Patoka, IN to Eldon and Nora (Speight) Marvell.
She lived most of her lifetime in the Mackey Community. Mary
was retired after 25 years from the Indiana Dept. of Transportation. She was an
active member of St. Johns Church of Buckskin. She was also an active member of
the Indiana Farm Bureau, Senior Citizens of Gibson County, and Republican Party
where she was a precinct committee person for nearly 50 years, Barton Township
Home Ec., and East Gibson Food Pantry.
She is survived by her 2 daughters, Nancy (Edward) Cardwell of Newhall, Iowa
and Marcia (Bill) Weatherington of Cornelius, NC;
son-in-law, Hugh Newkirk of Las Vegas, NV; 7 grandchildren, Joseph Matthews,
Tina Weatherington, Cory (Joy) Newkirk, Shelly (Tony)
Marquez, Christal (Brady) Secor,
Jane (Brian) Gravel and Eddie (Ricci) Cardwell; 12 great grandchildren;
brother, Charlie (Betty) Marvell of Patoka; sisters, Jean Mutchman
of Oakland City, Josephine Caskey of Newburgh,
Carolyn Ellerbrook of Patoka and Lucille Pauley of
Francisco; and 3 sisters-in-law, Juanita Marvell, Aida Marvell and Georgia
Marvell.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 1st husband, Albert Joseph Schumacher
in 1965; 2nd husband, Ellsworth Esarey in 1972;
daughter, Janet Newkirk; brothers, Frank, Ray and Grover Marvell; sisters,
Elnora Sollman and Martha Trader.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at St.
Johns Church of Buckskin, with Rev. Doug Gorman officiating. Burial will be at
the St. Johns Cemetery in Buckskin. Visitation will be from 3 until 8 pm on
Wednesday at the Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City and from 9:30 AM
until service time on Thursday at the church.
