Mary Ellen Stone, 96, of Noblesville, IN since 1956, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at the Allisonville Meadows Nursing Home in Fishers, IN.

She was born May 11, 1919 in Hazleton, IN to Earle and Della (Hayes) James.

She was a Music and English teacher, receiving her degree from Indiana State University in 1940 and her Master’s degree from Ball State. She taught in several locations including Ft. Branch and Arcardia, from 1941 through 1973. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star. 

She is survived by her 4 children, Vonda Chandler, Jamie Fleming, Marilyn Keenan and Debbie Schuler; 8 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Darwin Stone, in 1997, and great-grandson, Jacob Lawson. 

Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Pastor Chris Neikirk officiating. Burial will be in the Hazleton Community Cemetery in Hazleton.

Visitation will be from 11 until 1 PM on Tuesday at the Colvin Funeral Home.
