Merle W. Koberstein, 69, of Princeton, IN, passed away at his residence with his family by his side.  

He was born to the late Emery and Henrietta (Bultman) Koberstein on Apr. 29, 1946 in Haubstadt, IN. 

Merle was a member of the Vertical Church in Fort Branch, IN.  He was a partner in Koberstein Contracting Inc. and Koberstein Sales and Rentals Inc. in Princeton, IN

Besides his parents Merle is also preceded in death by 2 sons, Clay and Clint Koberstein, 3 brothers, Alvin, Linus, and Elmer Koberstein, and 1 sister Alberta Elpers.

Merle is survived by his wife of 50 years, Darleen C. (Huelsman) Kobertein of Princeton, IN, 6 children, Tammie (Chris) Seibert of Washington, IN, Kim McKannon of Francisco, IN, Brett (Dee) Koberstein of Madisonville, KY, Cliff Koberstein of Princeton, IN, Todd (Terri) Koberstein of Fort Branch, IN, and Lori (Chris) Watts of Fort Branch, IN.  He is also survived by 7 sisters and 2 brothers, Thelma Seib of Haubstadt, IN, Sister Elizabeth Ann Koberstein of Oklahoma City, OK, Lila Simon of Haubstadt, IN, Edith Baehl of Haubstadt, IN, Jo Ann Heyer, Pembroke Pines, FL, Norma Purer of Littleton, CO, Emory Koberstein of Princeton, IN, Marion Koberstein of Princeton, IN, and Virginia Wilzabacher of Haubstadt, IN.  Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Services for Merle will be on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch, IN, Rev. Steve Akins will officiate.  Burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Fort Branch, IN.  Visitation will be on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home, and again from 11:00 PM until service time at the funeral home on Sunday.
