Sylvia Lavonne (Lynch) Hardiman, 79, of Princeton, was born on January 28, 1936 in Princeton to Bertha (Green) Jenkins and Chethel “Jap” Lynch, who precede her in death.
Sylvia departed this life on Friday, September 25, 2015 at her home.
Sylvia was married to Marvin D. “Toad” Hardiman
of Princeton who also precedes her in death. She was also preceded in death by
a sister, Jacquelyn Young and a brother, James Jenkins. Sylvia was a long time
member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, where she was active in choir and
served as director of the Missions Department. She was loved by many and will
be missed by many more.
Sylvia is survived by 3 sons and 1 daughter, James “Jimmy” Hardiman
of Princeton, Marvin Don (Debbie) Hardiman of
Indianapolis, David Hardiman of Princeton and Valerie
(Tim) Young of Princeton; a sister, Gwendolyn S. Jenkins of Princeton;
brothers, Mike (Mary) Jenkins of Edward, NC and Perry (Elizabeth) Jenkins of
Princeton; 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; and a host of nephews,
nieces and relatives.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2015 at the Colvin
Funeral Home, 425 North Main Street in Princeton, with Rev. Rodney D. Coffer
Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at the Sand Hill Cemetery near Lyles
Station. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday at the Colvin
Funeral Home.
