Agnes “Dolly” (Creacy) Gibson, 94, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, August 30, 2015, at Gibson General Skilled Nursing Facility in Princeton.

Agnes was known to her family and friends as “Dolly” and was born in Evansville on May 9, 1921 to Robert S. and Adelia I. (Cusick) Creacy.

She graduated from Evansville Reitz Memorial High School in 1939.

Dolly married Robert L. Gibson on May 3, 1941 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Evansville. Dolly and “Bob” lived in Evansville, Lafayette, and moved to Princeton in 1963.

Dolly was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Princeton. She was an avid Purdue fan having lived in Lafayette for 11 years and enjoyed watching Chicago Cubs baseball on TV. She was a member of the Tuesday afternoon bowling league at Gibson Lanes for more than 40 years into her 80’s. She worked at the Sears catalog store in Princeton for about 10 years. 

She is survived by her children Robert L. Gibson, Jr. of Princeton, Stephen A. Gibson of Evansville, and Jane A. Gottlieb (Carl) of Indianapolis; grandchildren Cheryl A. Blanford (Todd) of Newburgh, Diane S. Christian (Stephen) of Maceo, Kentucky, Robert L. Gibson III (Paula) of Evansville, and Matthew A. Gottlieb (Heather) of Fishers, Indiana; great-grandchildren Christopher T. Blanford and Sydney A. Blanford of Newburgh, Juliet I. Gibson of Evansville, Cade R. Gottlieb and Miles C. Gottlieb of Fishers, Indiana, Stephanie Christian Chase (Dale) of Nashville, Tennessee; brothers-in-law Kenneth Gibson (Linda) of Evansville and Daniel Gibson (Barbara) of Mt. Vernon, Indiana, sisters-in-law Helen Gibson of Evansville and Inge Gibson of Chicago; a special cousin Cheryl Malloy of Columbia, South Carolina; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. 

Dolly was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 57 years on July 8, 1998, and a daughter-in-law Janice D. Gibson on June 3, 2013. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Princeton at 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Friends may visit Friday from 4 until 8 p.m. at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton where a prayer service will be conducted at 7 p.m. by Fr. Ron Zgunda
