Don Cowling, Jr. 58, of Princeton, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2015. Don was born on February 15, 1957 in Mt. Carmel, IL to Donald and Shirley (Ervin) Cowling, Sr.
He was a graduate of
Mt. Carmel High School in 1975 where he lettered in football. He had worked at
NIDEC (formerly Hurst Mfg. Co.) in Princeton for the past 20 years. He was
member of Columbia Masonic Lodge No. 450 F&AM in Patoka and was a past
worthy president of Eagles Aerie No. 361 in Princeton. Don enjoyed his
grandkids, watching Kentucky basketball and Chicago Cubs, and also hunting with
his friend Rusty Feagley.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy (Lambert) Cowling, they were married December
22, 1988; four children, Dara Cowling, Justin (Ashley) Cleveland, Kassandra
(Robert) Redden and Mellisa Fredrick & Joe;
sisters & brothers, Carolyn Snidle of Festus, MO,
Vicki Jessup of Springfield, IL, Sandy & Ed Kramer of Damiansville,
IL and Brad Cowling of Mt. Carmel, IL; in-laws, Sharon Henson, David Lambert,
Lisa Choate (DeJuan Roberts), Lori Wilkinson and
mom-in-law, Bonita Lambert Powers; grandkids, Keeliegh
& Tyler Stigall of Terre Haute, IN, Adryauna, William & Jaxon Redden of Evansville, Jacoby
and Bryleigh Cleveland of Princeton, Bobby Redden of
Evansville & Robin Redden of Princeton, Dallas, Tabitha, Abby & Miley
Fredrick of Vincennes; four great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews,
aunts, uncles & cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mom & dad; nieces, Amy Kramer & Laura
Hall; father-in-law, Thomas Lambert; and brothers-in-law, Gary Henson &
Mike Harms.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at the
Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, starting with Columbia Masonic Lodge rites.
Burial will be private. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. on
Saturday at Colvin Funeral Home.
