Bettye Marvel Disler, 93, of Owensboro, Ky. formerly of Oakland City, Indiana passed peacefully Friday, July 3, 2015 at Wellington Parc in Owensboro, Ky.
She was born October 11, 1921 in Princeton, In. to Samuel Lewis and Martha Darlene (Dawson) Marvel.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 64
years, Delbert Carl Disler and sister, Suzanne Barrettt.
Bettye graduated from Oakland City College and earned a Masters degree Indiana State University. She taught
elementary school at East Gibson School Corp. Bettye was a member of Good
Shepard United Methodist, Tri Kappa, Delta Kappa Gamma, Eastern Star and
Research Club. Bettye enjoyed playing bridge, socializing with family and
friends and cooking. She will be forever be remembered for her homemade
cinnamon rolls and noodles. After retirement, she and Delbert wintered in Palm
Harbor, Florida for 20 years.
Bettye is survived by a son, Michael (Carole) Disler of Sebring, Florida, daughters Jennifer (Tom) Green,
Martha (Greg) Clark, (7)Grandchildren and (9) great-grandchildren.
The family expresses their sincere appreciation to all of
the staff at Wellington Parc for the personalized
care and love shown to Bettye during the past several years.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Good
Shepherd United Church with Dr. Douglas Low officiating. The Family has
entrusted Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel for assistance.
