Valieta
M. DeBord, 95, of Princeton, passed away on Sunday,
July 12, 2015 at Gibson General Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility in Princeton.
She was born September 18, 1919 in Princeton to Thomas
and Bertha (Schoultz) Parker.
She lived in Princeton for most of her life. She was a
member of the Broadway Christian Church. Valieta was
very involved in her church and was member of the Christians Women’s
Fellowship. She worked as a brush maker at DeVoe and
Reynolds. She belonged to a Home Economics Club, enjoyed needlepoint and was an
avid reader.
She is survived by her daughter Pat Stone of Princeton; 2 granddaughters Latricia Sumner of Princeton and Rebecca (John) Douglas of
Owensville; 2 great grandchildren Gunner Douglas and Kix
Douglas; and a nephew Thomas Kays of Brownsburg, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James L.“Red”
DeBord in 1977 and a sister Helen Kays.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at the Colvin
Funeral Home in Princeton, with Rev. John Dunn officiating. Burial will be in
the Fairview Cemetery in rural Princeton. Visitation will be from 11 am until
service time on Wednesday at the Colvin Funeral Home.
