Kathleen M. Weiss, 93, of Fort Branch, IN passed away
on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at the River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton, IN.
She was born to the late William and Mary (Berfanger) Kaiser in Warrick Co. IN on Dec. 17, 1921.
She was raised on a farm in Newburgh, IN and graduated
from Newburgh High School in 1940 as Salutorian. She
then graduated from Lockyear Business College in
1941.
On Sept. 14, 1944, Kathleen married her husband,
Wilbert M. (Willie) Weiss, who preceded her in death in 2001. She and Willie
raised 8 children and they operated Willie’s Auto Sales in Fort Branch for over
25 years.
Kathleen was a charter member of the Holy Cross
Catholic Church in Fort Branch, IN, where until her death was the oldest living
member of Holy Cross. She was also a member of the St. Bernadette Auxillary #280 in Haubstadt, IN for many years.
Besides her parents and husband, Kathleen is also
preceded in death by a brother Ralph Kaiser, and a sister Hilda Titzer.
She is survived by 8 children Larry (Rose) Weiss of
Darmstadt, IN, Carolyn (Leon) Spindler of Haubstadt,
IN, Linda (Mike) Rodenberg of Newburgh, IN, Mary
(John) Muncy of Princeton, IN, Marcia (Tim) Martin of
Cynthiana, IN, Alan (Elaine) Weiss of Princeton, IN, James and Glenn Weiss,
both of Haubstadt, IN, 23 grandchildren, Lesley, Loren, and Laura Weiss, Jill
Howell, Lisa Stephens, Jennifer Spindler, Rachelle
Moseley, John and Sarah Schnapf, Brian, Shane, and
Chase Muncy, Katie Mayes, Todd Martin, Tifany Derheimer, Shelley, Brittany,
Kelsey, and Sydney Weiss, Jessica Conner, Kimberly Capin,
Julia and Jade Weiss. 23 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. She is also survived by a sister
Margaret Welte of Newburgh, IN, and 2 sister
in-law’s, Virginia Kaiser of Newburgh, IN, and Viola Paul of Evansville,
IN.
A Mass of Christian burial will be on Wednesday June
24th 2015, at 10:00 AM at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Fort
Branch, IN, Father Tony Ernst will be the celebrant. Burial will be in
the church cemetery.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 23rd,
2015 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Stodghill
Funeral Home in Fort Branch, IN, and again from 9:00 AM until service time at the church on Wednesday. The family wishes to
thank the staff at River Oaks Health Campus for their 11 years of loving
care.
