David Mitchell Walters, 67 passed away Saturday, June
20, 2015, at his home in rural Princeton.
He was born February 18, 1948, in Terre Haute, IN to
Harry “Ray” and Gloria Walters, who preceded him in death.
David spent his childhood in Vigo County and on April
1, 1989, he married the love of his life, Beatrice “Sissy” Miskell.
He retired from Duke Energy after working there for 30 years. He was a member
of I.B.E.W. Local 1393 and a member of the Columbia Masonic Lodge #450, the
Dora Temple Shrine in Terre Haute and the Sullivan County Shrine Club. He will
be remembered for always being willing to lend a hand for those in need and his
love for his family, friends and NASCAR.
Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Beatrice “Sissy” Walters; 2 sons, Kristoffer “Frog” (Courtney) Walters of Sullivan and Chad (Angala) Wilkerson and daughter, Melissa (Salvador) Gonzalez
all of Princeton; brother, Dewey (Beth) Walters of Shelburn;
sister Debbie (Jim) May of Bradenton, FL; 7 grandchildren, Landon Walters,
Erika, Kayley, Brianna, and Devon Wilkerson, Enrique and Miraya
Gonzalez; 3 nephews, Dewey, Derick and Darren; and 2 nieces, Dannette and Bobbi.
Memorial services will be 2 pm Saturday, June 27, 2015, at the Colvin Funeral
Home in Princeton, with Charles Miskell officiating.
Visitation will be from 1 pm until service time
Saturday at the funeral home.
