Vaughn “Jake” Price, 91, of Cynthiana and formerly of
Princeton, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Deaconess Charlier VNA Plus Hospice Center in Evansville.
He was born on October 27, 1923 in Francisco to
Herschel and Tina (Lewis) Price.
He retired from Price Oil Service in 1988. He was a
United States Army Veteran who served in WWII as the 1st Sgt. Company D of the
506th 101st Airborne Division. He was a life member of the former VFW Post
1147.
He is survived by his wife, Berenice Blankenberger-Price
of Cynthiana; 5 children, Larry (Jackie) Price, Garvin Price, Rickie Price, Kim
Price Smith and Melissa Selby (Jeff Lankford) all of Princeton; 6
step-children, Greg Blankenberger of Wadesville, Lynn
Blankenberger of Naples, FL, Rita (Tracy) Ripple of Cynthiana,
Donna (Bill) Nix, Brenda (Mike) Garris and Judy
(Jerry) Voegel all of Poseyville;
18 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Herschel Vern Price; a
grandson, Nicholas Price; and a nephew, Mike Price.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Monday, June 8, 2015 at St.
Joseph Catholic Church in Princeton with Father David Nunning,
celebrant. Burial will be at the Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton.
Visitation will be from 3 until 8 pm on Sunday at the
Colvin Funeral Home. Military graveside services will be conducted by retired
military veterans.
