Sharon B. (Zehner) Knowles, 80, passed away Monday, June 8, 2015 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.

She was born in Gibson County on Jan. 31, 1935 daughter of George and Melissa (Lucas) Zehner.

She was a graduate of Owensville High School class of 1953 and Lockyear Business College. She had been employed in the office of the McCurdy Hotel, Farmers Bank and Trust in Wadesville and Farm Bureau Insurance in Poseyville. Sharon was a member of Old Union Christian Church. Sharon very much enjoyed being with family and friends. She enjoyed farming with Kenny, reading and working cross word puzzles.

Survivors include her husband of 61years, Kenneth Knowles; children, Becky (Kent) Newcome, Greg (Rosemary) and Kevin (Sherry) Knowles; 4 grandchildren, Melissa Newcome, Paige Knowles, Eli and Brody Knowles; brothers, Darwin and Gerald (Billie) Zehner.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Lloyd Zehner and sister-in-law Judy Zehner.

Services will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Holders Funeral Home with Baret Fawbush and Bart Newton officiating. Burial will be in the Owensville Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
