Carl R. Kell, 54, of Oakland
City, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2015 at his home.
He was born August 9, 1960 in Princeton.
He was a graduate of Wood Memorial High School in
Oakland City, class of 1978. He was a veteran, having served in the U. S.
Marine Corps. He had a degree from Oakland City University in welding and
attended culinary school at Vincennes University and was very proud of his
culinary skills and had worked at the French Lick Resort. He worked for Hansen
Mfg. in Princeton for 30 years and then most recently had worked for S.M.C. for
4 years.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Nate and Brandi Kell of Princeton; a daughter and son-in-law, Fauna and Jed
Comer of Oakland City; a daughter, Kaela Kell (James
Wells) of Hazleton; his father, Carlos “Sam” Kell of
Oakland City; 5 grandchildren, Sierra Kell, Malcolm
Comer, Liam Comer, Nathanael “Barlow” Kell and Daisy
Comer; 2 sisters, Elaine Kell Young and her husband,
Dennis and Ellen Morgan and her husband, Jeff all of Oakland City; 1 brother,
Chad Kell of Oakland City.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna (Skelton) Kell.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at the
Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, with Rev. Charles R. Gipson
officiating. Burial will follow at the Forsythe Cemetery west of Oakland City.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the hour of
service on Saturday at the Corn-Colvin Funeral Home. Military honors will be
provided by the Marine Corps. League, Detachment 1090, Evansville, IN.
