Wanda Lee Douglas was called home by our Heavenly
Father on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville
North Carolina.
Wanda was born in Princeton on May 25, 1928 and was
the daughter of Thomas G. Bammer and Nina P. Bammer.
She was a graduate of Princeton H.S. and attended
Purdue University before marrying Harry G. Douglas in 1948. In addition
to raising her two children, Kathy and Thomas, Wanda was proud to be a member
of the Order of the Eastern Star. She had a beautiful voice and enjoyed
singing in the “Sweet Adelines” for several years.
Wanda was also known for her wonderful cooking and enjoyed preparing home-made
meals for her family and guests. Above all, Wanda had deep faith and love for
Jesus.
Wanda was predeceased by her parents and her husband,
Harry as well as her daughter, Kathy Mills.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas
and Bonnie Douglas, granddaughter, Jacqueline Douglas, son-in-law, Melvin Mills
and sister, Pat Klemeyer.
At Wanda’s request, a private service was held in
Princeton on June 11, 2015. Colvin Funeral Home, Princeton, was entrusted with
local arrangements.
