Cassandra Suzette "Cassie" (Nelson) Kessen, 49, of Aurora, IN, passed away Saturday, May 9,
2015 in Aurora, IN.
She was born Thursday, July 1, 1965 in Princeton,
Indiana, Daughter of Elizabeth Ann Sharp Nelson and the late Gerald William
Nelson.
In her younger years Cassie grew up in Oakland City,
Indiana, graduating from Wood Memorial High School and from college at the God
Bible School and College in Cincinnati, Ohio.
In 1988 she married James Kessen
and has lived in Aurora, Indiana.
Cassie worked as a Home Health Aid for Interim
Health Care. She was a member of Wilmington Hills Wesleyan Church, and
served as the church musician and church custodian. Cassie taught private
music lessons and worked mainly with children. She loved her family and was
a wonderful wife and mother. Cassie stayed active with her children by
home schooling. She was a homemaker and truly enjoyed taking care of her
family and friends. She was even know as "Momma K" to the
children's friends. Cassie's faith and family and church family were most
precious to her. Her influence in all their lives left a deep spot that
won't easily be filled. She will be greatly missed.
Surviving are her loving husband, James
"Jim" Kessen of Aurora, IN; Children,
Crystal, Hollie, Heather and Candace Kessen of
Aurora, IN; Mother, Elizabeth Ann Sharp Nelson; Brother, Theron William (Ara) Nelson-Mercer.
She was preceded in death by her Father, Gerald
William Nelson and Son, Brandon James Kessen.
Friends will be received 4:00 - 8:00 PM, Tuesday, May
12, 2015 at the Wilmington Hills Wesleyan Church, 13044 S. Wilmington Hills Drive,
Aurora, Indiana.Services will be held at the Church,
Wednesday, at 11:00 am with Rev. LaMar Brown
officiating.
Interment will follow in the River View Cemetery, Aurora,
IN 47001.
