Woodrow M. “Woody” Hillis,
Jr., 68, of Princeton, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2015 at the Deaconess
Hospital in Evansville.
He was born December 15, 1946 in Princeton and had
lived here his entire lifetime.
He retired from the City of Princeton where he had
worked for over 38 years. “Woody” was an avid sports fan and loved the Yankees
and Cubs baseball teams.
He is survived by two sisters, Carolyn (John) Umpleby
and Sheri (Jim) Collins, both of Princeton; a brother, Steve (Cheri) Barrix of Princeton; a step-brother, Joe Allen (Connie) Barrix; four nephews, Andy Collins, Brian Barrix, John Umpleby Jr. and
David Umpleby; two nieces, Brandi Sturgeon and Lisa
McDonald.
He was preceded in death by his father, Woodrow M. Hillis,
Sr. in 1950; step-father, Orville Barrix in 1985 and
mother, Marjorie H. (Boyer) Barrix in 2013.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at the Colvin
Funeral Home in Princeton, with Pastor Chris Neikirk
officiating. Burial will follow at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Princeton.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the hour of
service on Wednesday at Colvin’s.
