Elizabeth "Liz" Ann Davenport, 50, of
Evansville, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at St. Mary's Medical Center.
She was born December 6, 1964, in Princeton, IN, to
the late Ray Glen and Nellie Mae (Lowe) Groves.
She was a special education substitute teacher in
Princeton. She was very devoted to her family and enjoyed spending time with
her grandchildren. Liz was a very loving, kindhearted person, was very
forgiving, always put others above herself, and would do anything for anyone.
She enjoyed garage sales, cooking, baking pecan pies, crafts, and attending
summer socials.
Liz was preceded in death by her parents; son, Timothy
Joseph Davenport; and brothers, David Ray Groves and Ray Glen Groves, Jr.
She is survived by her daughters, Brandy (Abelardo) Perez, Robyn (David) McCandless, and Emily
Mendez; son, Ben Davenport, and his special friend, Crystal; love of her life,
James McLean; grandchildren, Haley, Miguel, Kyara,
Alex, Javier, Ivory, Manuel, Prudencia, and Adriana;
sister, Wilma (Keith) Newcome; brothers, Earl (Pearl)
Groves and Wayne (Diana) Groves; many nieces and nephews; foster sister,
Jacqueline Fox; and several great-nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, and
uncles.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Monday, May 11,
2015, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Pastor Rhonda Marshall, with
burial in Memorial Park Cemetery in Vincennes, IN.
Friends may visit Monday from 9:00 AM until service
time at the funeral home (Alexander Funeral Home-East Chapel.)
