Thomas R. Thompson, 69 of Evansville, formerly of
Princeton, passed away Monday, April 13, 2015 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in
Newburgh.
He was born in Princeton, March 6, 1946 to David D. and Dorothy Mae (Fischer)
Thompson.
Tom graduated from Princeton High School in 1966. He was employed by Public
Service Indiana for 13 years. He was a member of the Princeton Optimist Club,
Princeton F.O.P. and the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Tom was a very loving and
caring person who would go without to give to others. He was an avid collector
of old movies and loved doing carpentry work. He will be sadly missed by all
who knew and loved him.
Tom is survived by a sister, Susan Horton and her husband William of
Carlinville, IL; brothers, David Thompson and his wife Rita of Aitken, MN; Tony
Thompson and his wife Nancy of Princeton; Ted Thompson and his wife Rita of
Princeton; and Jim Thompson and his wife Pam of Calera, AL. He is also survived
by 12 nieces, 11 nephews, 20 great nieces, 25 great nephews and 1 great –great
niece and 1 great-great nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents Dave and Dorothy Mae Thompson, sister,
Patty Nutter, and nephew, Brian Nutter. Tom was his mother’s caregiver for ten
years, after the death of his father.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday April 16, 2015 at the Colvin Funeral
Home in Princeton. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in
Princeton.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time on
Thursday at the funeral home.
