Mary Lois (Johnson) Powers, born February 23, 1936,
gained her beautiful angel wings on April 16, 2015.
Mary graduated from Deaconess School of Nursing. After
graduation, she worked at Deaconess and St. Mary’s Hospital in the surgical and
OB GYN field as a surgical technician for many years until her retirement. When
she retired, she became a foster grandparent for St. Vincent’s Day Care in
Evansville. She enjoyed watching her Monday Night Raw, and the ION channel on
TV, was an avid reader, enjoyed needlepoint, painting, and spending time with
her family.
She is survived by her children, Cynthia (Gary) Cullison,
Cathi (Dennis) Alford, Steven Joseph Sr., Paul
(Chris) Davis, Bruce (Georgia) Davis; sister-in-law Geneva Johnson; 14
grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, her great
friends Janet and Ronnie Dill, and her precious furry babies, Layla and Petey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Catherine (Parson)
Johnson, her husband Homer (Lucky) Powers, her children Brian L. Davis and
Carrie Lynn Emberson (Lynnie
Baby); her brother Billy Johnson; great grandson Landon R. Khan, and her
beloved pets, Casey and Taz.
Memorial Services will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the
Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Pastor Carl Crow officiating.
Visitation will be held from 1 until service time at
the funeral home.
