Joe Floyd Osborne, son, brother, soldier, uncle,
husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away at Treasure Coast
Hospice House Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at the age of 87.
Joe was born June 11, 1927 to Clyde and Iris Osborne
from Francisco.
At the age of 18, Joe enlisted in the United States
Navy as Seamen Second Class; V-6 with his home base at what is now known as
Patrick Air Force Base in Cocoa Beach, Florida.
Joe worked many jobs in his life but found a perfect
fit, as a drag line operator at Old Ben 2 Coal Company in Winslow. After
retirement, in 1991, Joe lived in Palm Bay, Florida, Rockledge, Florida,
Knoxville, Tennessee and for the last two years he has lived in Port St Lucie,
Florida.
Joe is survived by his wife of 54 years, Virginia
(Hedge) Osborne; son Mark (Mary Markham) Osborne, Winslow; daughters, Toby
(Emmitt) Windham, Cary, North Carolina, Deanna (Steve) McNeece,
Ft Pierce, Florida, Pam (Chuck Bell) Reed, Melbourne Beach, Florida,
Tammy (Terry) Angle, Port St Lucie, Florida. Sister,
Patsy (Robert) Cloin, Princeton. Nine
grandchildren, Rebecca Schmorr, Steven M McNeece, Coby Reed, Casey Reed, Greg Osborne, Matt Osborne,
Ginny (Zeigler) Buonpastore, Brianna Zeigler and
Brian Angle. He was known as Papa Joe to 17 great grandchildren and two great great
grandchildren.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents; identical
twin brother Harold Osborne; big brothers, Clyde Osborne Jr, William Osborne
and John Osborne.
At Joe’s request there will be no visitation or
services. Final Entombment will be at Florida Memorial Gardens, Rockledge
Florida.
