Michele Kaye (Vire) Williams
65, was born in Washington D.C. on July 27, 1949.
She departed this life on March 16, 2015, after a
courageous battle with breast cancer.
Michele was born into a military family and lived many places in the United States
and Europe. One of her favorites was Bremerhaven, Germany where she attended
high school and made many lifelong friends. After returning to the United
States Michele studied at Southwestern University in Michigan, Texas Western
University, and Texas Christian University in El Paso, TX.
Michele worked for various Wabash Area Vocational Enterprises including
Department of the Agency on the Aging and the Mental Health Agency. After
relocating to Jacksonville, IL, she worked for the State of Illinois Dept. of
Mental Health from where she retired.
Michele was a loving and giving person who truly cared for her family and
friends. She was funny and strong and a phenomenal shopper. One of her greatest
joys was giving gifts to others, the greatest being her humor, loyalty and
joyful spirit.
She was preceded in death by her parents Lt. Col. Ret. Howard F. Vire and Ruth Higginson Vire and
her beloved older brother Michael Ray Vire.
She is survived by her son Bradley Michael Newman and daughter-in-law Melissa
“Missy” (Hyneman), of Terre Haute, IN; her sister
Tara Vire Zimmerman (Robert), of Tampa, FL; her
sister-in-law Jane Tyring Vire
Tichenor (Jack) of Evansville, IN; nephews, Tim Vire (Jennifer) of Evansville, IN, Robert Zimmerman III of
Tampa, FL; nieces, Cami Vire
Vieke (Joe) of Evansville, IN and Marisa Zimmerman of
Tampa, FL; four great nephews and a great niece; numerous aunts, uncles,
cousins, friends and co-workers.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, March 22, 2015 at the Colvin
Funeral Home in Princeton, with Dr. Jack Eberhardt
officiating. Burial will be in the Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 pm on Saturday at Colvin Funeral Home in
Princeton.
