Debra Kay Smith, 59, of Columbus died Friday, March
13, 2015 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Debra had worked at Flambeau as a factory worker.
One of her greatest joys was spending time with her
children, grandchildren, and family. She enjoyed fishing, working in her
garden, reading her bible, and being outside. She loved visiting with her mom
and family on her mother’s front porch and visiting with her neighbors. She was
of the Christian faith.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1pm on Tuesday
at Garland Brook Cemetery with Pastor Charles Edward Kelley officiating.
Born on February 15, 1956 in Princeton, Indiana the daughter of James
"Jim" A. and Mary A. Hulfachor Smith.
Survivors include her mother, Mary A. Smith of
Columbus; Children, Jeremy (Carrie) Scott of Hebron, Kentucky and Jenniffer Gerth of Columbus;
Brothers and Sisters, James Alan Smith of North Vernon, Brenda (Joseph) Evans
of Columbus, Lori Ann (Bob) Shattuck of Columbus, and Stacey Smith of Kentucky;
Grandchildren, Joseph David Gerth of Columbus, Ashley
JoAnn Gerth of Henryville, Jeremy David Scott and Caris Scott of Hebron, Kentucky; and also several nieces,
nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father and one
grandson, Derek Andrew Gerth.
