On Wednesday, March 25, 2015 Madeline E. Moyer of
Benton Illinois died at the Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mount
Vernon, Illinois.
She was born Sept. 25, 1943 in Patoka to Leonard and
Goldie McCrary Bishop.
She married Gerald Moyer on June 18, 1966 in
Patoka.
In her early years, she was employed as a telephone
operator at Princeton Telephone Co. and when she married, she and Jerry moved
to Benton where he was employed at a coal mine in that area, when the local
Kings Mine closed.
Madeline was employed in the Benton Middle School
cafeteria as a cook for more than 20 years. She attended the third Baptist
Church at West Frankfort, Illinois.
She is survived by her daughter, Anna (Tracy)
Henderson of Herrin, Illinois; step-son, Gary (Debbie) Moyer of Evansville;
step-daughter, Lori Koss of Newburgh; three grandchildren, Jerry, Joseph and Gabbrianna Henderson of Herrin; sister, Ellen Roach of
Oakland City; brothers, Jim (Jeanne) Bishop and Don Eugene (Donna) Bisohp of Patoka. She had a very dear friend, Brenna Behn of West Frankfort, Illinois and numerous nieces and
nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and
two brothers, Jackie Leonard and Vaughn Bishop; and a sister, Anna Lee Bishop
Services will be Monday, April 6 at 5 p.m. at the
Crain Funeral Egyptian Chapel in Energy, Illinois.
Interment will be at the Egyptian Memorial Gardens. Visitation
will begin at 4 p.m. on Monday, April 6 until services.
Madeline has been cremated.
