Jack Ray Stunkel, 79, passed
away Friday, Feb. 6, 2015, at Deaconess Hospital.
He was born Aug. 12, 1935, in Haubstadt.
Jack grew up in Haubstadt. After graduating, he worked
at the Blue Bell Inn Filling Station. At age 18 he went to work in Evansville
at a filling station. He then went to work at Emge
Packing in Ft. Branch and worked there for 45-1/2 years until retiring in 1999.
He enjoyed vacations in Branson, Missouri and monthly
Birthday Club dinners at the Log Inn at Warrenton. He also enjoyed going to the
Executive Inn in Vincennes for dinner and listening to the piano music and
antique cars.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and
Dora (Besing) Stunkel; and
brothers, Clifford and Carl Henry Stunkel.
He is survived by his by his son, Wayne R. Stunkel of Haubstadt; grandchildren, Bryan Stunkel (Rosemary), Daniel Stunkel
(Kimberly) and Alec Stunkel; sister, Sharon Keeker (Rick) of Franciso, IN;
great grandson, Jack Stunkel; and former wife, Effa Stunkel; five nephews, and
close friend, Archie Baughn.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11,
2015, at Alexander Memorial Park Chapel, 2200 Mesker
Park Drive, with entombment to follow. Friends may visit Wednesday from
11:30 a.m. until service time at the cemetery chapel.
