Hugh Alvin Mounts passed away Thursday, Feb 5, 2015 at
River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton.
He was born July 1, 1929 in Gibson County. He was the
son of Lawrence and Edith (Shelton) Mounts.
He was a graduate from Owensville High School class of
1947 and attended college at Indiana University. He worked and retired from
Snap-on Tools as a tool and die maker for 37 years. Hugh was a member of
Owensville First General Baptist Church and served as an honorary deacon for 37
years. He received his 50 year pin and was Past master of Owensville Masonic
Lodge #364, worthy patron Order of Eastern Star #256. He was a member of
Princeton Masonic Lodge #231 and also served on the town board for 8 years. He
enjoyed wood working, word search puzzles and read his bible daily.
Hugh is survived by his wife, Patty; son, Allen
(Brenda) Mounts; daughters, Christine (Yvonne) Cox, Kimberly (Dr. Ronald)
Kaneshiro; sister, Sarahbel Grubb; grandchildren,
Alexander Mounts, Rebecca Lansberry, Mark Cox, Rachel
Deisner and Andrew Kaneshiro; great-grandchildren,
Eleanor, Augusta, Rutherford and Martha Mounts, Linden and Alexa Lansberry, Mason and Drake Deisner,
Bailey, Tucker Lee, Ian and Lily Cox.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dr.
Wayne Mounts; sisters, Dorothy Williams, Esther Goodson and Helen Armstrong.
Services will be held on Mon. Feb 9, at 10:00 a.m. at
Holders Funeral Home in Owensville with Bob Douglas and John Sloan officiating.
Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-6 p.m. at the
funeral home with Masonic Rites conducted by the Princeton Lodge #231 at 6 p.m.
