Ottie Jines, Jr. 79, of Princeton, passed away on Saturday,
Jan. 10, 2015.
He was born and raised in Princeton by his parents, Ottie Sr. and Margaret Jines.
He was a member of Prince Masonic Lodge F&AM No.
231, Sword of Bunker Hill, American Legion, Eagles Aerie No. 321 and a past
member of the Princeton Kiwanis. He worked for Southern Indiana Gas for 44
years. “JR” loved IU basketball, St. Louis Cardinals baseball, river fishing,
Green Bay Packers football and watching his granddaughters play Lady Tigers’
basketball and volleyball.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Diane Jines of Princeton; a daughter and son-in-law, Cheri and
Cory Page of Princeton; two granddaughters, Rylee and Reaghan
Page of Princeton, who were the loves of his life; a brother, Bob (Gloria) Jines of Princeton; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Derek Jines in 1980; 3 sisters, Mildred, Virginia and Wanda; and
a brother, David Jines.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday,
Jan. 14, 2015 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Rev. Jarmon Perkins
officiating. Burial will follow at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Princeton.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the hour of
service on Wednesday at the Colvin Funeral Home.
