David T. Johnson, 87, formerly of Owensville, passed
away Tuesday, December 02, 2014 at River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton.
He was born November 26, 1927 in Evansville, IN the
son of George W. and Myrtle (Webb) Johnson.
David was a member of Christian Church Disciples of
Christ, graduated from Owensville High School class of 1945, served his country
in the United States Army during WWII, past Elder of Cumberland Presbyterian
Church and worked over 30 years for the U.S. Postal Service as a Rural Mail
Carrier. He belonged to the Fort Branch Masonic Lodge # 696 and was Past Master
of Owensville Masonic Lodge #231 in 1958 and had received his 50 year pin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Jane
Traylor; brothers, Kermit and Kent Johnson.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Ruth (Spray)
Johnson, daughter, Deborah R. Johnson; son and daughter-in-law, David M.
(Vickie) Johnson; grandchild, Allison N. Johnson.
Services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 6 at 10:00
a.m. at Holders Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Hicks officiating and burial to
follow in the Owensville Cemetery. Military graveside services will be
conducted by the retired military veterans.
Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5 at the
funeral home. Masonic Rites will be conducted at 7:00 p.m.
