Vernon Hensley, 92, of Fort Branch, IN, passed away on
Dec. 9, 2014 at Owensville Transcendent Care.
He was born to the late Chester and Mae (Shelby)
Hensley on Oct. 12, 1922 in Albion, IL.
Besides his parents, he is also preceded by his first
wife Mae (Forkner) Hensley, a daughter Eliza Hensley,
and Rosalie Stennett formally of Albion, Il.
He is survived by his wife Linda (Stunkel)
Hensley of Fort Branch, IN, 3 grandchildren, Donald Kibby
of Evansville, IN, Gary (Marilyn) Blahovec of
Evansville, IN, and Cindy Ratiff of Evansville, IN, 5
great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren, and
several nieces and nephews.
Vernon was veteran of the US army having served in
World War II, and was a member of the VFW Post 2714. He was also a member
of the Civilian Conservation Corps.
Services for Vernon will be on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014
at The St. Stephens Community Church in Warrenton, IN at 10:00 AM with Rev.
Jason Ford officiating, burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Albion IL at
1:00 PM that afternoon.
Visitation will be on Friday, Dec. 12, 2014 From 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Stodghill
Funeral Home in Fort Branch, IN. The family would like to give a special
thanks to Norma and Carolyn Callis for helping take
care of Vernon.
